January newsletter: It’s going to be a GOOD year

Victoria Seitz

It’s going to be a GOOD year!

Many of the economic indicators are pointing in a positive direction.  Consumers are spending, although a bit cautiously, ad spending is up and forcasted to go up, and finally unemployment is stabilizing.  Great news to all of us for the year ahead.

And what better way to kick off 2011 than learning how some of the world’s most successful brands have maintained their momentum and remained fresh and growing.  Come join us Thursday January 27th at Sevilla’s for an evening of information and inspiration with our “Brands That Rock” program.  A panel of experts from Disney, Juice it up, No Fear and many more will share their insights on staying relevant in a changing marketplace. Utilizing social media, as in twitter, members will be able to “tweet” their questions and concerns prior to the event so that panelists will have time to address them in this forum.  This will be an evening affair that will start with networking and end with great information.  This is one program you definitely want to sign up for!  Look for program specifics and registration via email from Eddie Gonzales, our program chair.  This will surely be an evening that ROCKS!

It’s also time to submit your entries for the ADDY competition.  Want to get noticed by prospective clients for your great work? Then get an ADDY award!  And the only way that happens is if you enter.  The ADDY Gala will be at the Mission Inn in Riverside on Friday March 11th, truly the place to get noticed.  For questions contact Mark Landon of the Landon Agency at mark@landonagency.com.    You have worked tirelessly this past year in \developing outstanding creative and implementing great campaigns, now is the time to stand up and take a bow.  See YOU at the ADDY’s!

This past year I have been priviledged to work with the finest group of individuals in the AAF-IE board.  If you are interested in becoming a part of a dynamic organization, serve the advertising community, and move the profession forward in the Inland Empire, we are seeking individuals such as yourself to become a part of the board.  Got ideas for membership, programs, education, or the ADDY’s, join us on the board to make a difference! Contact me or Jon Burgess (jon@redfusionmedia.com).  We will be finalizing the slate in the next couple of months so I want to hear from you!

Also, Christy is looking for MENTORS to spare 5 minutes with the future of our profession in the Inland Empire.  You have so much to offer, take time to share what you know with those that are preparing for this field.  You will truly enhance their education and build a better pool of potential employees for you!  Contact Christy at christy@greenacresdesign.net.

Lastly, I would like to thank Steve Scudder Photography, Digital Empire Studio, Amy Eras, The Pines, Hangar 24, Canyon Crest Winery, Mark Landon, Brian Coles, John Barry, Julie Wright, Eddie Gonzales, Claus Enevoldsen, Christy Oakes, Youth Hope, San Bernardino Valley College, California State University, San Bernardino, The Art Institute, the German and Romanian Consulates, the Romanian American Professional Network, and Ragini Iyer with Nritya Geethanjali Indian Dance Studio for making our holiday party a success!  With approximately 60 people in attendance, it was truly a night of inspiration and fun!  e club was able to donate $300 from the event to Youth Hope a so I thank each and everyone of you for making it possible.  Also, ongratulations to Jacob Poore on winning the holiday photo contes   Go to http://www.aaf-inlandempire to view pictures from the event and the winning entry
