November Letter from AAF-IE President Dr. Victoria Seitz
It’s a time to be grateful. . .
It’s a time to count our blessings that come in the form of many things, such as our children, our spouses, and our significant others, our friends, our jobs and our clients. Thank you, I am grateful!
But I am also grateful that I practice in a profession that as much as its regulated and condemned, that it is always evolving. One area it’s evolving is in Social Media. That has really taken the world by storm and its abuses are growing by the minute. So much so, many companies have gotten into trouble with paying bloggers, using signs and symbols that infringe on trademarks and the list goes on and on.
That’s why this month’s program is so important to attend! On November 11th from 11:30 to 1:30 at Copies & Ink in Rancho Cucamonga, Jim Astrachan, co-author of The Law of Advertising and Mass Communications, and principle of Astrachan Gunst Thomas Rubin law firm will be speaking on Social Media Law so you don’t get Sued!
Some of the topics that he will touch on include blogger endorsements, advertiser liabilities, endorser liability as well as the use of street teams. Sign up at http://www.aaf-inlandempire.com <http://www.aaf-inlandempire.com/> to reserve your spot for this much needed information! Bottom line, it’s better to hear him NOW rather than consulting with him when you do get sued!
Also join us for our 2nd Wake up Call at the Coffee Bean in CLAREMONT from 7:30am to 9:00. With so many issues and situations that we deal with in our businesses, it really pays to talk to others who have experienced it. Come join us- it IS worth the time!
Mark your calendar NOW for the best Christmas party ever. On December 9th from 6:30 to 10pm come experience Christmas Around the World at Scudder Photography and Digital Empire Studio in Rancho Cucamonga. It will be an epicurean delight as you feast on foods from Germany (Upland German Deli), Lebanon (Casablanca), Italy (Tuitti Mangia Italian Grill), the USA (The Pines Steakhouse) and many more. Listen to Christmas melodies from many different countries and dance the night away – the night will be one to remember for all!
Lastly, start putting your packets together for this year’s Addys. The Gala will be March 11th at the Mission Inn.
I hope you have a wonderful November as we kick off the holiday season. Make sure to visit us on Facebook and follow us on twitter at www.twitter.com/aafinlandempire . I look forward to seeing you. Any questions or comments do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com. Happy holidays!
