September already?? A letter from the president.

September already??? Yes it is and with that some really dynamic programs that will help you to excel in your business.

First off, don’t forget to follow us on twitter at www.twitter.com/aafinlandempire.

As a member of AAF you probably got an email regarding the new member website. I went on and it’s fantastic! If you haven’t logged on be sure to check out http://membership.aaf.org/user. This is an online venue for AAF members to learn more about the industry and access beneficial documents and presentations that definitely help you to be successful in your business. I like the daily Smartbrief myself and use it in the classroom for my marketing and advertising courses.

To help us all we are going to be having morning coffee what we call Wake up Call. Our first one is October 7th at 7:30am at the Coffee Bean in Redlands. So come join us for a cup of coffee and let’s talk about things. The topics are up for grabs but the focus will be on helping you succeed in your business.

Start getting your work together for this coming Addy competition. This year’s Addy’s will be March 11, 2011 at the Mission Inn. Judging will take place in February so entries will need to be readied by January. This year we want to encourage more students to enter simply because they are our future. And to promote this we will be seeking sponsors for the student Addy competition. Look for a letter in your mail box or a call from me as we work toward getting a great showing of up and coming talent in the Inland Empire. What an easy way to see what talent and personalities are out there! Hey you might even find your next intern or new hire! Your support in this effort will benefit everyone so I look forward to working with you this year to make the student portion of the Addy competition, the best ever!

Also we are looking for those that want to mentor our up and coming talent. If you are interested in being a go-to person for students to learn about the field please email Christy Oaks at Christy@greenacresdesign.net. The only requirement is a willingness to share your experience with students. They would learn much from you!

It’s going to be a great year for the AAF-Inland Empire Ad Club. You are the ones that make it happen, so thank you for your support and participation. If you have any questions or comments do not hesitate to contact me at vseitz@csusb.edu.
